A cutting head for at least one continuous rod in machines for making tobacco products comprises at least one supporting body (3) rotating about at least one axis of rotation (A1; A2); at least one blade (4) connected to the supporting body (3) for cutting the continuous rod (2) being fed along a feed axis (D); connected to the supporting body (3) there is a unit (6) for connecting the blade (4) and which comprises means (7, 8) for holding the position of the plane in which the blade (4) lies constantly at a right angle to the feed axis (D) of the continuous rod (2); the holding means (7, 8) also comprise means (19) for restoration of the active portion (4a) of the blade (4) and which allow a reserve portion (4b) of the blade (4) to be moved and fed outwards to replace the parts of the active portion (4a) of the blade (4) which have worn out as a result of cutting and sharpening operations.
