PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a template positioning apparatus requiring no adjusting labor and certainly performing the positioning of a template. SOLUTION: A pin 12 is attached to a movable template 5 and a ball retainer 23 is provided to the bush 21, which is attached to a fixed template 4, in a movable manner. A slipping-off preventing locking member 26 is provided to the inlet of the bush 21 and a spring 27 is provided between the bottom part of the bush 21 and the ball retainer 23. At the time of mold opening, the ball retainer 23 is pushed down by the spring 27 to be locked with the locking member 26. At the time of mold closing, the pin 12 comes into contact with the ball retainer 23 without being inserted therein to push the ball retainer 23 in the bush 21 while compresses the spring 27. The pin 12 begins to enter the ball retainer to mutually position the templates. Since the ball retainer of point contact is used, dragging is hard to generate. The ball retainer becomes rolling resistance because of point contact and slidability becomes well.
