PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure removal of end material by enhancing the cutting property of a pierce-cutting method and apparatus for pierce-cutting an opening in a predetermined portion of a soft molding such as an insulator dashboard. SOLUTION: The press drag 20 of the pierce-cutting apparatus 10 includes a drag pad 22 vertically movable via a buffer spring 23, and a cutting blade 24 provided on the drag pad 22 while avoiding interference therewith. A press cope 30 is provided with receiving rubber 32 corresponding to the cutting blade 24. Also, a pressure plate 33 driven by an air cylinder 32 as a tensioning mechanism imposing a tearing force on a pierce-cut portion or a pressure plate 33 energized downwards by a coil spring 35 is used to apply tension in tearing direction to the pierce-cut portion during cutting operation so as to increase the cutting property of the apparatus.
