PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a housing rack from energetically starting moving and applying an excessive vibration to an article to be housed when the housing rack is elevated. SOLUTION: This elevating housing device is equipped with a speed control means 19 which controls the rotating angular speed of a motor 14 for elevating the housing rack 12. Therefore, the housing rack 12 can be driven at a specified speed regardless of the weight of a content in the housing rack 12. In addition, when the housing rack 12 starts an elevating motion, the rotating speed of the motor 14 can be gradually accelerated, and the housing rack 12 can be prevented from suddenly starting moving. Thus, an excessive vibration is not applied to the housing rack 12, and the content can be prevented from being broken by being knocked down or the like in the housing rack 12. Thus, the stable vertical movement becomes possible.
