PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polytrimethylene terephthalate-based polyester fiber capable of providing a nonconventional very soft fabric, and further to provide a method for producing the polyester fiber. SOLUTION: This polyester fiber comprising the polytrimethylene terephthalate-based polyester has 50-150 deg.C peak temperature of thermal stress, and 0.13-0.39 cN/dtex peak value of the thermal stress.
