PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a printer management device to easily know whether a printer stopped by a fault is usable or not. SOLUTION: When a fault of stopping a printer occurs in the printer 12, the printer management agent 14 of the printer 12 registers it in an alert table 16 as a critical alert and transmits a trap to a client 11 to make the client 11 gain the information on the critical alert. The printer management agent 14 deletes it every solution of the fault of the critical alert, and further judges whether all critical alerts have been solved or not. When the solution is judged, it is registered, and it is notified of the user that the printer is usable by use of the trap. |
