PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new self-advancing earth retaining machine, in which the driving and pull-out of a sheet pile are made unnecessary in the case of the progress of ditch excavation, in underground pipe burying construction works. SOLUTION: The self-advancing earth retaining machine has an earth retaining section 1, in which in-ditch traveling mechanisms 12 are annexed to side wall sections 11 faced at the interval of ditches and a parting plate 13 is mounted at a rear, an excavating section 2 installed at the front end of the side wall section of the earth retaining section, a discharging section 3 being arranged to the upper section of the excavating section 2 and discharging excavated waste soil and a traveling section 5 projected and secured to the side from excavating-ditch width, and an underground piping is back-filled, excavating the ditch.
