PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problems such that special know-how is required and a processing time cannot be reduced without degrading recognition precision. SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus for performing recognition by a template matching method using predetermined template data is provided with a correlation arithmetic part for finding a correlation value between an inputted original image and a circular template image where the width of a circumscribing quadrangle constituting a recognizing object becomes a diameter and a correlation value decision part for deciding the presence/absence of the object by comparing the correlation value bound by the correlation arithmetic part and a threshold. |
