PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield machine with excellent construction efficiency, capable of steep-curve construction short in a radius of curvature. SOLUTION: The shield machine, provided with a front drum having an excavating means in the front surface of the machine, a middle drum engaged mutually with the front drum in a telescopic manner free to expand and contract, and a back drum connected to the middle drum in a bendable manner by a pin disposed in a diametral direction, is constituted in such a manner as to connect the front and back drums by means of a plurality of connecting jacks.
