PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shirt usable singly as a formal or casual wear. SOLUTION: This shirt 1 is so designed that a given area including the overlapped part of the right and left front bodies 21 thereof is plain, the other area excluding the given area is given a pattern, the given area has a width allowing a collar 7 to exist from the front sight of the shirt 1; alternatively, a pattern 3 is given to the shift 1 with a given pitch, and made symmetric with respect to the overlapped part of the front body 21, and the pitch has the half width of the width allowing the collar to exist; thus, when putting on a jacket, the shirt can be used as a formal wear as a plain white shirt since only the plain portion thereof is seen from the outside, and also when taking off a jacket, it can be used as a casual wear since the pattern is seen from the outside.
