PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method, capable of executing accurate and uniform application, and obtaining a low-cost, high-efficiency and long-life organic EL element, and the organic EL element. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of the organic EL element, having a pair of electrodes and organic layers concerned with at least luminescence function and placed between the pair of the electrodes has a formation where organic material dissolved in a solvent is dropped from an application nozzle and applied, when forming at least one layer of the organic layers. This organic EL element obtained by the method is also provided.
