PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To report optimal print setting information to an application prior to execution of printing. SOLUTION: In a printing system comprising a computer and a printer, a printer driver in the computer refers to a DEVMODE optimization table according to an ID corresponding to an object designated from the application, thereby determining weighting corresponding to the ID, and reporting to the application the print setting information (DEVMODE) corresponding to the weighting. The application allows the user to select the desired settings from the DEVMODE acquired, and instructs the printer to perform a printing corresponding to the selected print settings. |
