PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water gate simple in work execution, ensuring control of a water in a levee or the like, and its construction method. SOLUTION: The water gate having a water stop plate 20 integrally mounted on a precast-concrete bench flume 12 together with a concrete 52 comprises a cylindrical water flow pipe 24 connected to the water stop plate 20 and passing through the concrete 52 and a lid member 34 for sealing an opening portion of the water flow pipe 24 in a closeable manner.
