The steering wheel with a three-part grip piece has a stabilizing core (1) imparting the necessary rigidity, of steel, carbon fiber or similar, and encased in elastic, soft plastic material. It has an outer, elastic casing (2) of perspiration-absorbent material which is capable of being gripped, but is not too soft, so as to avoid a spongy grip feeling. A core piece (3) comprises a hose-type casing, which can accommodate thermo-stable fluids, gas or a mechanical core with displaced lamellas. By altering the pressure or the position of the lamella core, the total diameter of the grip piece is altered.
