The ultrasound transducer (2) has a piezoelectric body (6), which has a number of transducer elements and a strip conductor foil (8) on a flat side (12), which has a conductive track pattern that determines the geometrical distribution of the transducer elements. Preferably, the geometrical distribution is a simple form, without any special structure. The film may be glued or mechanically pressed onto the piezoelectric body. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacture the transducer.
