The invention provides novel solid dispersions excellent in the dissolution of drugs, and medicines. For example, a solid dispersion, characterized by comprising as the essential components both two water-soluble polymeric carriers arbitrarily selected from the group consisting of hydroxypropylmethylcelluloses and polyvinyl- pyrrolidones and a drug with the weight ratio of one of the two water-soluble polymeric carriers to the other ranging from 1 : 5 to 5 : 1.
