Exhaust turbocharger turbine casing cast by thin walled precision casting

The casing assembly comprises a spiral casing (1.2,1.3) which surrounds the turbine wheel (1.1). The casing contains a tongue like wall, inlet and outlet connections, and a flange that connects the casing to the bearing casing. The casing is manufactured by thin walled precision casting. The casing is formed by at least two parts with at least one separation joint. The joint is axially perpendicular and extends over an arc of a circle of approximately 270 deg . The parts of the casing are welded to one another.
