PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a working scaffold installed with an expansive mechanism and a shrinkable mechanism using a flat belt which is able to make the whole compact by narrowing the arrangement space for easily gripping in the expanding and shrinking operation by using a flat belt. SOLUTION: In the expanding and shrinking mechanisms in which movable members are installed along the guide portion formed to a base members, pulleys are arranged respectively and the flat belt is crossed between the members through the pulleys and the movable member is slid with reciprocation and made expandable and shrinkable by the pull operation of the flat belt.
