PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dryer for a printing ink, which can achieve at a high drying rate of the ink on the surface of a printing paper and prevent the skinning of the ink surface during storage and printing, and a printing ink containing the dryer. SOLUTION: An encapsulated dryer for a printing ink is prepared by covering a core material comprising metal salts of fatty acids adsorbed on porous particles with a shell material comprising a resin composition to thereby form a microcapsule. The printing ink contains the microencapsulated dryer.
