PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cassette having a half structure which prevents the infiltration of outdoor air into the tape cassette during traveling of the tape in a VTR and with which the always stable traveling action of the tape is carried out. SOLUTION: The tape cassette is so constituted that areas to be housed with a supply side reel and take-up side reel in a cassette body consisting of an upper half and a lower half are segmented by a partition wall.
