PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems with a multipass editing device, such as the requirement for more functions than the functions required for a linear editing device and the difficulty in maintaining track when the program structures produced by a user are latently difficult while views are changed over or adjusted during edition with the multipass editing device. SOLUTION: The media editing device for forming media products by editing media items has a means for displaying the expressions of at least >=2 media items associated with a media item existing within the respective time periods relating to the media products, a user control means which regulates the time periods of at least the >=2 expressions and a regulating means for regulating the respective time periods of the other expressions so as to include the time periods of the present expressions regulated in the time periods of other expressions according to the user's regulation of the time periods for the present expressions.
