PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hydrogenate an acetylene-based compound, a diolefin and a polyolefin without greatly influencing a monoolefin existing in a fed raw material. SOLUTION: This method for selectively hydrogenating a fed hydrocarbon raw material is characterized in that in a method for selectively hydrogenating a fed hydrocarbon raw material containing hydrogen and a C2+ hydrocarbon, a membrane is used and the method includes at least one separation process (process (a)) for separating a part of hydrogen contained in the fed raw material and a process (process (b)) for selectively hydrogenating an efflux produced in the process (a) in a reaction column.
