<p>The invention provides a voltage converter (10) useful for converting a high voltage supply of between 110V and 250 V AC to a low voltage of between 12V and 24V DC useable by a low voltage light fitting (40) and suitable for coupling proximate to the low voltage light fitting (40). The voltage converter (10) has a first zone (12) for orientation adjacent a lamp or bulb (14) of the light fitting (40) and a second zone (16) remote from the first zone (12) and which, in use, is in the shadow of the first zone (12) in relation to the lamp or bulb (14). In the first zone (12) is located a magnetic core (18) for a transformer (20). In the second zone (16) are located heat sensitive electronic components (32) of the voltage converter (10).</p> |
