The shopping trolley has a pivoted swing-like carrying tray (13) below the basket (4). When not in use, the tray is retained by a holder (17), to prevent a pivot movement of the tray or the tray and another part of the trolley. The holder is formed by a clip etc. and is clamped to the tray and in addition acts as stop for the rear wall (11) of the basket.
