<p>The Slide Gate Plate System is used to cast molten steel into tundish or ingots in a controlled manner. The Slide Gate Plates are placed outside the ladle and consist of two refractory plates - one fixed and another moving. The fixed plate is also called top plate and sliding plate is also called bottom plate (1). An isostatically pressed sleeve (6) is inserted between the bottom plate (1), collector nozzle (2) and ladle nozzle (3). When said sleeve (6) is inserted in one piece in bottom plate (1) and collector nozzle (3) it eliminates the joint between them, thereby saving failure of joint at bottom plate (1) and collector nozzle (3). Figure 2 shows the slide gate plate and nozzle as per present invention.</p> |
