The present invention discloses a CDMA soft handover method using in the current code division multiple access system, characterized in that the procedure of the system soft handover reserve the burst mode according to the variation of pilot frequency signal strength measured by mobile station, while it involve communication quality indication parameter---successive multi-error frame detected by the mobile station to initiate activation the soft handover together. Based on not to change the procedure of the current soft handover, it improve the performance of the current soft handover technology, reduce the probability of disconnection communication, improve communication quality.
