PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To agree a document center with a paper sheet feed belt center by the fine adjustment of the position of a paper sheet feed belt even when the paper sheet feed belt is shifted to one side is the width direction and a deviation is generated between the document center and the paper sheet feed belt center by the knitting direction of cores of the paper sheet feed belt or other causes by providing an adjusting member for manually adjusting the position in the width direction of the paper sheet feed belt (the center position) with respect to a roller for stretching the paper sheet feed belt. SOLUTION: A document separating and feeding means S comprises a circulating endless paper sheet feed belt 6 and a paper sheet feed belt supporting mechanism S1. The supporting mechanism S comprises a drive roller 21 and a driven roller 20 which wind the paper sheet feed belt around the outer circumference, and stretch and support the belt, a pair of paper sheet feed belt holders 22 which are located on both end sides in the width direction of the paper sheet feed belt, rotatably and pivotably support a shaft of the driven roller at one end and bearing-support the other end by the belt drive roller, a cylindrical bearing member 26 loosely fitted to the outer circumference of the drive shaft of the belt drive roller, and the adjusting member 6 for adjusting the position in the width direction of the rollers and paper sheet feed belt, and the adjusting member is supported by the outer circumference of the bearing member in an advancing/retracting manner in the width direction of the paper sheet feed belt.
