PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner miniaturized without affecting an appear ance, carriable in a well-balanced state and improving fixing performance of the divided left and right bodies when carrying a whole body. SOLUTION: In a vertical type vacuum cleaner for internally storing a motor- driven air blower, a rotary shaft of a handle used when operating the cleaner is arranged in the rear of a projecting part of the cleaner body, and the body handle used when carrying the cleaner body is rotatably arranged by sandwiching a cleaner body divided surface, and the body handle is arranged so as to cover a groove for inserting fingers when opening a dust collecting chamber cover for covering a dust collecting chamber.
