摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that in an engine provided with a plurality of intake ports for each cylinder, and a variable intake system on one of the intake port, residence of fuel and defective build up on the wall surface are caused in the intake port to which the variable intake system is operated when the fuel is injected in a state of operating the variable intake system in a specific running, thereby causing disturbance in the air-fuel ratio under normal running. SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine is so constituted as to be equipped with two or more air-intake ports 2 for two or more cylinders, one of the air-intake ports 2 comprises a mechanism to reduce the amount of air intake under a specific running condition, two or more main fuel injection valves MI at the position where fuel is injected into respective air-intake ports 2 for respective cylinders at the downstream side of a throttle valve TV, and a sub-fuel injection valve SI at of the forward part of an air-intake pipe aggregation part communicating with respective cylinders. In the engine, the main fuel injection valves MI are put in operation under normal running conditions, and the sub-fuel injection valve SI only is put in operation under a specific running condition that activates the mechanism to reduce the amount of intake air.</p>
