摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device with good uniformity of a substrate gap although thickness of the substrate is reduced. SOLUTION: In the production method for liquid crystal display device, when forming a plurality of liquid crystal display elements between a pair of insulating substrates, individual sealing material surrounding each of the liquid crystal display element and outer periphery sealing material surrounding the periphery portion of the pair of insulating substrates are formed between the pair of insulating substrates, the thickness of the substrate in at least either of the pair of insulating substrates is made thinner, and the substrate is separated for every liquid crystal display element after that. The production method has a process which forms a flattening layer in a lower part of a pixel electrode of a pixel electrode side substrate among the pair of insulating substrates, a process which forms a gap member to define the gap between these substrates on the substrate in at least either of the pair of insulating substrate, and a process which removes previously the flattening layer in a region overlapping with at least either of the individual sealing material and the periphery sealing material.</p>
