PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waveguide type optical branching device wherein an optical path is integrated by combining optical branching and re-confluence by the use of plural two-branching circuits and one or more confluence circuits. SOLUTION: In a waveguide type optical branching device which is formed by a waveguide formed on a substrate, this waveguide type optical branching device is provided with an input optical port A, a first two-branching circuit 101 which branches optical power added to the port A into two, a second two- branching circuit 102 which further branches, into two, optical power of a second branch which is branched into two by the first two-branching circuit 101, and a first confluence circuit 111 which makes confluent a first branch of the second two-branching circuit 102 with a first branch of the first two-branching circuit 101. An output of the first confluence circuit 101 and an output of a second branch of the second two-branching circuit 102 are outputted by output ports (B1, B2). |
