PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant coating device equipped with constitution that the fluctuation of a static friction coefficient on an image carrier is restrained by preventing an unbalance state from being caused in the coating amount to the image carrier with the lubricant by eliminating developer which still intrudes in a lubricant coating means for the image carrier regardless of an image whose area ratio is high or low. SOLUTION: This lubricant coating device 1 is equipped with a means 8A coating the image carrier 2 carrying the image on its surface with the lubricant 20 for decreasing the friction coefficient of the surface of the image carrier. In the device 1, the lubricant 20 is arranged on the upstream side of a contact position where the coating means 8A comes into contact with the image carrier 2 in the moving direction of the coating means 8A moving toward the image carrier 2, and a means 21 for discharging the developer intruding into the coating means 8A is provided on a more upstream side than the arranged position of the lubricant 20, then the coating means 8A comes into contact with the lubricant 20 after coming into contact with the means 21. |
