PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce memory capacity in a speech synthetic device that inserts soundless speech between the phrases through which speech lasts. SOLUTION: An address counter 13 outputs an address of the phrase one after another toward a phrase signal Sf that specifies the phrase. Based on the music data toward the phrase that is stored in a data ROM, a speech synthetic circuit 25, a digital/analogue converter(DAC) 17 and a low pass filter(LPF) 18 synthesizes the speech and generates an analogue speech signal S0 toward the phrase. When the soundless speech is inserted between the phrases, a counter 21 counts a given soundless speech time data Dt and sets soundless speech time while a selector 16 selects a ground electric potential GND equivalent to the soundless speech and gives it to the DAC 17. Therefore, a data ROM 14 does not need the data of the soundless speech. |
