PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve difficulties in key inputting because a Chinese character inputting method by romaji (roman letters) form requires a greater number of key inputting-operation than a Chinese character inputting method by kana (Japanese syllabary) form and the method by kana form requires more key memorization than the method by romaji form. SOLUTION: In this high-speed Japanese character inputting method, according to the rule of Japanese kana syllabary represented in the romaji form, in accordance with the romaji starting sound based on romaji starting sound inputting shown in the Fig. 1, a vowel of a character is inputted when the character belongs to the first column of the kana syllabary, while a consonant of a character is inputted when the character belongs to the second column or the following columns. In addition, Japanese character inputting is carried out by inputting a vowel/consonant of the head character of reading of respective Chinese characters constituting a set of kanji.
