摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for measuring a magnetic orientation state, capable of simply measuring the magnetic orientation states in the widthwise and lengthwise directions of a measuring object or the tendencies thereof on the way of the production of the measuring object with high accuracy. SOLUTION: A light emitting means 113 for emitting linearly polarized light to the measuring object, a rotary means 112 for rotating the light emitting means 113 around an optical axis, and a light receiving means 114 for receiving the light transmitted through the measuring object to measure the quantity thereof, are provided. On the basis of the relation of an angle of rotation at the time when a polarizing plate becoming a standard is irradiated with linearly polarized light while rotating the linearly polarized light around the optical axis to the quantity of transmitted light, a magnetic orientation state is measured from the quantity of transmitted light at the time of irradiation of a running magnetic body with linearly polarized light.
