摘要 Retained particles are burned in the presence of an additive containing at least one molecule of low molecular weight with at least two hydroxyl groups. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a fuel with an appropriate additive; (b) a device for carrying out the regeneration process; and (c) an exhaust pipe carrying a regeneration device. Preferred Features: The molecule is an organic molecule with a branched or unbranched aliphatic chain of at least three carbon atoms and a molecular weight below 100, such as glycerol. The molecule is added to the fuel before it reaches the combustion chamber, or in the exhaust pipe upstream of the filter. The quantity added is 30-100 vol.%, preferably 45-55 vol.% and is added continuously or for limited periods. The device for carrying out this regeneration process contains a device for producing a precise and variable dosage of the additive solution, a device for controlling its starting and stopping, a device for controlling an electromagnetic injector and a device for controlling the pressure produced in the engine. The device for controlling the pressure adjusts the injection pressure of the additive as a function of the back pressure caused by the particle filter.
