PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for allowing an inexpensive general-purpose driver IC to be used as it is for a cathode circuit drive of a field emission display(FED). SOLUTION: When a custom-made device with a built-in serial resistance is used in an output circuit of a driver IC 12a for the FED, an over-current by capacity nature load inside the FED can be prevented, but the present invention utilizes a general-purpose product without a serial resistance for driving a cathode of the FED. As shown in Fig. (a), from a connection electrode 38 which is an output terminal of the driver 12a and via conductive particles 35 in an ACF 37, an addition resistance layer 15 formed on a wiring pattern 30 and the wiring pattern 30 compose a connection line which is connected to the cathode inside the FED. The addition resistance layer 15 works as a resistance equivalent to the serial resistance formed inside the IC, and, as shown in Fig. (b), reduces a peak value of the over-current. Or a resistance layer 15a may be formed at a cut section 31 of the wiring pattern 30 in a bridge- shape.
