A drain for draining water from a room, comprising a housing provided with at least one inflow opening, through which the water can flow into the housing, and an outflow opening, which can be conected to a drain pipe and through which the water can flow out of the housing, wherein the drain furthermore comprises a shut-off valve disposed in said housing, which is movable between in first position, in which the inflow opening and the outflow opening are in open communication, and a second position, in which a passage in the housing is sealed substantially hermetically.
