摘要 In order to take topology into account in an appropriate manner when a model is converted, a flag is set when a marker enters a causal chain and re-set when it leaves. This results in a decision criterion for a program branch, ensuring that the chain will only be processed if a marker is located therein. Long causal chains can be divided into areas. Each area is provided with one such flag and is controlled thereby. The model elements are converted into SPS languages, during a transition for example, in the following manner: switching is processed only when necessary, said switching being dependent upon a program branch which occurs downstream from the switchability check . A whole range of other strategies exist, based on various characteristics of the model, the process represented in the model and the target platform. The choice of a strategy can, for the most part, be computer-assisted in terms of design time, running time (optional) and fine tuning (optional), or be manual (optional).
