LOW-ENRICHED 13C-LABELLED UREA COMPOSITION FOR UREA BREATH TEST

The present invention relates to a composition for a urea breath test (UBT). In particular, the invention is directed to a composition used for detecting <i>Helicobacter pylori</i> infection in the human body comprising a low-enriched <13>C-labelled urea. Furthermore, the invention provides a kit for diagnosing <i>Helicobacter pylori</i> infection comprising the composition and an appropriate receptor for collecting exhaled breath. According to the present invention, the <i>Helicobacter pylori</i> infection can be diagnosed by using a composition comprising a low-enriched <13>C-labelled urea to provide a highly cost-effective urea breath test that offers both high sensitivity and specificity.
