An electrode (I) for the electrolytic production of ozone and/or oxygen comprises a perforated electrically conductive body having a contact side and an active side with an electrically conductive diamond coating. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) the production of (I) by introducing perforations into a solid electrode body using an eroding tool before or after coating the active side with electrically conductive diamond by PVD (not defined); (2) the production of (I) by applying a perforation pattern onto a mono- or polycrystalline silicon wafer by photolithography, etching away the perforations, and coating the active side with electrically conductive diamond by PVD; (3) the production of (I) by introducing perforations into the electrode body using laser beams; and (4) an electrolysis cell for producing ozone and/or oxygen, comprising a multi-part housing containing a solid electrolyte membrane in direct contact with anode and cathode electrodes, where the anode is of type (I) with its active side against the membrane.
