The invention relates to a V-belt arrangement for the transmission of rotary motion between (at least) two belt pulleys, comprising at least one endless load carrier (10a and/or 10b) and a number of blocks (2) arranged thereon. The at least one load carrier (10a and/or 10b) fits in grooves (6a and/or 6b), which run from at least one tilted side surface (4a and/or 4b) of the blocks (2) up to the middle region thereof. The at least one load carrier (10a and/or 10b) has on the surface thereof and the block grooves (6a and/or 6b) have convex (16b, 14a) and/or concave sections (16a, 14b) on their flanks (defining surfaces 24). According to the invention, the losses can be minimised and efficiency increased, whereby the pressure in regions where a sliding movement occurs is reduced. Over the whole contact range, from the straight position of the belt to the state with the smallest radius inclusive, on at least one of the contact partners, a continuously variable curvature or a combination of at least three sections of constant curvature is arranged such that the curvature increases on going from the middle of the contact region to the outer regions. Said arrangement is suitable for continuously-variable speed and torque conversion, in particular in automobile applications. |
