PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information recording medium which can be recorded in a high packing density. SOLUTION: This recording medium comprises a multilayer constitution having at least lower protective layer, phase change type optical recording layer, upper protective layer and a reflecting layer on a board. In this case, the phase change type layer contains a composition of ZnαInβMχSbδTeε, where M indicates Sn, Ge, Si, or Pb, 0.01<α<0.1, 0.001<β<0.1, 0.01<χ<0.1, 0.5<δ<0.7, 0.25<ε<0.4, 0.03<=β+χ<0.15, α+β+χ+δ+ε=1. Its crystal state is in an unrecording state, and an amorphous state is in a recording state. And, amorphous bits can be lap written by modulation of light intensities of at least binary values of strong and weak intensities. |
