<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder in which the time being elapsed before an erasable state is brought about after power is turned on can be shortened and temperature ripple can be suppressed under a state waiting at an erasable temperature. SOLUTION: An image recorder comprising a recording medium 1 on which an image can be recorded and erased repeatedly by varying energy being applied thereto, a roller 4 for erasing an image existing on the recording medium 1, and a thermal head 15 for recording a new image is further provided with means for controlling the temperature of the erasing roller 14 to a constant level depending on the temperature of the erasing roller 14 detected by a thermistor. The control means has a first heating mode for heating the erasing roller 14 from room temperature state up to an erasable temperature, a second heating mode for heating the erasing roller 14 under a state waiting at the erasable temperature, and a third heating mode for heating the erasing roller 14 during erasing operation wherein the conduction energy being applied to the erasing roller 14 per unit time is set such that the conduction energy in the first heating mode > the conduction energy in the third heating mode >= the conduction energy in the second heating mode.</p> |
