PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking nut which can demonstrate the consistent locking effect even when the nut is attached/detached a plurality of times, and to improve the productivity thereof. SOLUTION: A bolt hole 7 ranging a tool fitting part 2 and a projecting part 3 is formed in an intermediately manufactured body 9 comprising the tool fitting part 2 and the projecting part 3 which is provided in a truncated conical shape tapered outwardly in the axial direction from the tool fitting part 2 and provided with a plurality of longitudinal grooves 6 in the circumferential direction on the outer circumferential side of the projecting part 3, and a pressing body 10 in surface contact with or line contact in the axial direction with at least one outer surface of blocks 4 and 5 between the longitudinal grooves 6 is pressed along the axial direction with respect to the intermediately manufactured body from the top of the projecting part 3 of the intermediately manufactured body 9 to allow one block 4 to be contracted and deformed in the radial direction.
