PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a technology for removing pollutants from soil to reuse the land such as the site of an abolished plant in which pollutant leakage is highly likely, a dumping site containing pollutants, and the waste disposal site of a waste final disposal facility. SOLUTION: A pollutant catching structure is installed on the ground or in a sedimentary layer, water is supplied to the ground or into the sedimentary layer, and pollutants in percolating water is caught by the structure. The structure is provided with a cylindrical casing, pollutant catching bodies to be inserted into the casing, and a connection means for connecting the catching bodies in the casing, holes are formed in the side wall of the casing, and the pollutant catching body has an enclosing body having permeability and a pollutant catching material packed in the enclosing body.
