<p>A tube bundle reactor for exothermic or endothermic gas phase reactions with catalyst-filled tubes has fixtures (34) to improve heat transfer from a circulating fluid heat carrier which are arranged in the tubes longitudinally and/or circumferentially each with a clearance spacing (35) of size at most such that the ratio of the diameter of a circle drawn through the radially outermost tube (3a) to each clearance spacing (35) is >= 13. Independent claims are also included for plant containing such a reactor in which (A) a static mixer is included between the coolant and/or heating device inlet and the inlet to reactor to make the heat carrier entry temperature uniform; or (B) cooling and/or heating devices in the bypass to the reactor (1) which are used only for starting up or shutting down the reactor are shut down in normal operation to prevent a discharge.</p> |
