PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for the testing of coke which apparatus is capable of measuring the load distribution that the coke at high temperatures affects on the furnace walls. SOLUTION: The apparatus for the testing of coke which apparatus feeds coke or coal into a carbonization chamber 1, then compresses or excludes it, thus measures the load affecting on the side wall of the above chamber, is characterized in that it comprises: divided side walls 3b each of which is one of a plurality of divided side walls and is so set up as to be movable to the right angle to the direction of the compression or extrusion; load-transmitting rods 11 each of which is connected to the each of the divided walls 3b and transmits the load affected from each of the divided walls to the position influenced hardly by the heat; and load measuring devices 9 each of which receives the transmitted load from the load-transmitting rod 11 and measures the load.
