Pivot wing device for transferring documents, especially bank notes, betweem transport paths, rotated by mechanism comprising electric motor and grooved rotary plate

The drive mechanism for the pivoting wing (1) comprises an electric motor (50) with a variable rotation direction, a plate (6), and a journal (3) supported by the wing at a distance from its pivot bearing (2). The plate has two essentially concentric ring grooves which have different diameters and are connected by a spiral groove. The journal tracks the grooves during rotation of the plate and a part is provided for preventing the journal from leaving the ring groove during rotation of the plate in one direction, and for guiding the journal into the spiral groove during rotation of the plate in the opposite direction. The wing is pivotally mounted at one end on a pivot bearing, and is coupled to a drive mechanism at a distance from this bearing, this mechanism being used to pivot the wing between two positions. Bank notes are removed from an input path and transferred to one of two output paths in a transport device.
