A wooden or bamboo post (1) has three fasteners (2) attached. Each fastener is ideally of stainless steel with a plastic sheath, the whole being smooth, of constant diameter, pliable and inelastic. Each is secured to the post by two turns of a close-wound helix (3). The free end (4) secures the plant stem; it is bent to lie parallel with the post to save space in transit.
